An appeal is made to the students and teachers and other members of Library whenever they want whether particular book or books of a particular Author among collection this enquiry level needs may be fulfilled by means of searching the OPAC of Library. Desire user may go to the computer screen and fill up his/her request for the availability of books in the OPAC choosing one of the search parameters (title, author, publisher and Accession Number)etc. if known. The result will appear on the OPAC screen whether the book of a particular title or particular author is available or not in the collection of the library. If by efforts, the user is unable to execute the search in library OPAC , he/ she may directly contact to the Librarian for the searching availability of book through OPAC.
In order to develop a good and useful collection with budget allotted to the library , teachers, students and administrative staff of college may recommend books for purchase for study and reference but they are requested to submit standard useful books on syllabi and other books generally available in the market rather than old books published in particular year in the history. Advice to them gives that they should consult publishers sites and Google books for its availability in the market then prepare a list in the proforma recommended by the library for the purchase of books and subscription of journals.
One of the premier demands of students for the old question papers of previous university examinations, library advices them to go to the university library website (www.sgbau.ac.in) and download previous examination question papers. Some sets of old question papers are a normal function of a book an issue and receive counter of the library can borrow it. Previous five years question paper sets are available in the library.
With intensity to the proper utility of the library collection and satisfy Ranganathans 3rd law of library science Every book its reader . after 2010 library has adopted open access system to its collection where students and teachers allowed directly to the books stack for choosing the books for their interest.
